The University of Wisconsin-Platteville seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach for the Athletic Department.
Duties include, but are not limited to, coaching, recruiting qualified student athletes to meet university enrollment goals, including use of recruiting software, fund raising, camp operations, developing community support for the program, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, upkeep on travel itineraries and department policies before and after trips.
Prefer collegiate coaching experience and participation. Knowledge of NCAA rules. Candidates will also serve as in a role that serves in event management for other UW-Platteville Programs and maintenance of the wrestling facilities.
Organizes and administers intercollegiate sport(s). May supervise a staff and/or have budgetary responsibility. May conduct practices, identify and recruit qualified student-athletes, develop competitive schedules, coordinate team travel, and insure compliance with governing rules and regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree - Minimum three (3+) years of successful coaching experience on the collegiate level - Demonstrated successful recruiting ability - Strong administrative organizational skills - Written and oral communication skills - Knowledge of computer applications, including that for recruiting - Fund raising experience and developing community support for the program - Willingness to assist head coach in all operational task of running a successful wrestling program - Ability to manage multiple tasks - Ability to work weekends & evenings and also to travel - Familiarity with duties needed to successfully run collegiate sporting events |
