The University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, invites applications for an Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach. USF is a member of the NCAA Division II and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Position Summary:
The position is a full-time, 12-month; benefit eligible position and reports to the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The person in this position will assist with all aspects of running a competitive women’s wrestling program, including but not limited to: identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development, scouting, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, and other duties as assigned. The selected candidate will also assist in organizing and running camps. The applicant must demonstrate leadership, recruiting, and coaching skills and knowledge of and adherence to compliance with all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated successful wrestling and/or coaching experience, with collegiate experience preferred.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must have significant knowledge of and demonstrated success in coaching women’s wrestling, recruitment of student-athletes, and strong motivation, organizational, and communication skills. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in the environment of a Christian higher education institution and abide by all NCAA DII and University policies.
A bachelor’s degree is required; with coaching experience or a combination of wrestling and coaching experience is preferred. An understanding of the mission of USF, a strong professional work ethic, and a commitment to the academic success of students is required. Travel is necessary with a valid driver’s license, and the ability to successfully pass a background check and lift up to 40 lbs. is required.
