Shenandoah University’s Athletic Office is accepting applications for an Assistant Wrestling Coach. This is a full-time benefited position on our main Winchester, Virginia campus.
The Assistant Wrestling Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all program phases. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- identity, recruit, coach, and develop student-athletes for the program; - organize official and unofficial visits; - assist with practice, game preparations, and planning of travel itineraries; - assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring, fundraising, game management and scheduling, and other administrative duties as assigned. - a secondary duty within the athletic department will also be assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, (Master’s Degree Preferred), and 2+ years of college coaching experience. This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with current and prospective students, parents, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to the academic development of student-athletes.
A pre-employment background check will be required and a satisfactory driving record may be required as a condition of hire.
