The South Dakota State University (SDSU) Jackrabbit Athletics team is seeking an Assistant Coach for Wrestling. As a university committed to both academic excellence and athletic achievement, we are looking for an individual passionate about coaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of talented athletes. South Dakota State is an NCAA Division I institution located in Brookings, South Dakota. SDSU competes in The Summit League for all sports except football (Missouri Valley Football Conference), wrestling (Big XII Conference), and women’s equestrian (National Collegiate Equestrian Association). This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree completed by start date. • At least one year of collegiate wrestling coaching experience, successful intercollegiate competition; graduate assistant, or club coaching experience – any combination of the following will be considered. • Commitment to promote an atmosphere of compliance and adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. • Demonstrated organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Division I experience; • Demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletes; • Understanding of NCAA Division I rules and regulations; and • Compliance, academic and fundraising knowledge.
